Hearts Cutthroat

Hearts is an easy to play, easy to learn and fun card game for groups of three or more. It is also a staple evening game at our deer camp.

We developed and tested a new version of hearts – cutthroat!

Credit to Dennis S. for this fantastic variation to keep the game lively for our group of seven (small hand of just 7 cards per player with three cards in the crib).

In Hearts Cutthroat a player is eliminated when they reach or exceed 26 points (1 point is awarded per heart, 13 points for the Queen of Spades, no minus 10 for the Jack of Diamonds).

Shooting the Moon, which is collecting all of the hearts and the Queen of Spades, eliminates the entire field in a single hand.
