Thanks. I have been writing on this same topic.
The same could be written for drunk driving, but that hasn’t stopped lots and lots of people from trying to reduce the incidence of drunk driving. Unfortunately the incidence of drunk driving, for the same reasons you explain, is still way too high. But I think a difference has been made.
I think a persistent drip of knowledge and emotional appeal can slowly shift habits. At least I hope.
Finally, I would add that the rapidly declining hours of sleep we are all getting is another prime contributor in vehicle collisions that isn’t being measured and doesn’t have anywhere near the social stigma of drunk driving or texting/driving.
