5 Essential PowerPoint Skills for EMS Educators

Like it or not, PowerPoint presentations are a mainstay of EMS education. An effective PowerPoint slide deck can enhance your lecture presentation or help facilitate a classroom discussion. Always use PowerPoint slides to make your presentation more effective. Don’t use PowerPoint to display the outline of your lecture of presentation.

When preparing a PowerPoint slide deck that minimizes bullet points, stimulates student thinking, and encourages audience interaction you should know how to do these essential PowerPoint skills:

1. Align and distribute objects
2. Duplicate objects
3. Use the grids and guides
4. Send objects, text, or images forward or backward
5. Hyperlink with in a Slide deck or out of PowerPoint
