Posts Outside the Service Area: Tips, Reviews, and Recommendations

I compiled this post in March but never posted it because of the transition to the EMS Blogs Network. There is some really great information in these posts. Enjoy.

The Unwired Medic shares with readers the EMS blogs that he recommends. Visit his list and add your own recommendations in the post comments.

With EMS Week about a month away now is as good a time as ever for your agency to launch a Facebook page. The Social Medic shares 5 Facebook Page cover tips. Visit his post, share your agency’s facebook page URL and ask other readers to like your page and provide feedback about the cover layout.

The EMS Office Hours podcasts shares a short audio tip on recognizing Geriatric Abuse, a frighteningly common problem. Learn more in an EMS World CE Article on Geriatric Abuse.

At the EMT Spot Steve Whitehead shares an acronym for assessing a patient suicidal intentions. Remember any patient assessment mnemonic should be the start of the conversation, not a complete list of questions.

I often sing the benefits of attending a national EMS or Fire conference, but many of you remind me attending a conference is really expensive. The Rescue Digest has a great set of tips so conference attendance doesn’t break the bank.

Finally, don’t forget to register for the EMS Web Summit next month.
