EMS Tips

3 Things that are Merely Interesting

Here are three things that are merely interesting to me:

1. A single set of vital signs. Multiple sets are needed to see a trend over time.

2. Blood in the toilet. Yes, I believe you it was bloody poo or pooey blood. By the time I arrive the smell is overwhelming. I am more interested in what is still in you and multiple sets of vital signs. Blood in the toilet, I’ll take your word for it.

3. Smell of the discharge from that wound. I will always agree that it smells bad so please don’t offer for me to smell the oozing funk coming out of the wound. There is a good chance I can already smell it without having you wave it in front of me.

Your turn. What do you find in EMS to be “Merely Interesting.”
