Tips to Make Handwashing Easy and Accessible

As an EMS provider you should already know and understand the role of handwashing in overall health and wellness. Increase the frequency of handwashing by using these Everyday EMS Tips to make handwashing supplies more available.


  1. Mount an alcohol based handwash dispenser in the patient care compartment. Next to the passenger side rear door is a good location.
  2. Keep a small bottle of alcohol based handrub in your coat pocket.
  3. Store additional bottles of alcohol based handwash on the action counter, glove box, door storage areas, and the jump kit.

Global Handwashing Day, October 19, 2009 can’t come soon enough. Meanwhile encourage your children, family, friends, and co-workers to regularly wash their hands.
