Rapid Responses to Mass Shootings – EMS is on the front line

A few hours ago I posted a rapid response article, which is an immediate response to a developing news situation, about the events unfolding in San Bernardino. This is my fourth rapid response article to a mass killing (two shootings, one stabbing and one hybrid targeted violence attack).

My intent is to briefly recap the situation, connect the events significance to EMS and opine on some important takeaways for EMS.

San Bernardino: Rapid Reaction: EMS response is media focus in early phase of an active shooter

Paris: EMS leaders must prepare for Hybrid Targeted Violence in the U.S.

Sweden: Rapid Response: Active shooter or active stabber? The EMS response is the same

Oregon: Rapid Response: Mass murder at Ore. college shows challenge, importance of good PIO work

I am not sure if there is a common set of themes or takeaways that overlap from article to article. The only thing I can be sure of is that the next mass shooting is only a few days away.
