We are EMS and We Go In #EMSWeek

I belong to many communities. Two of which I am most proud to belong, EMS and runners, were at their best at the finish line of the Boston Marathon a month ago today.
Boston EMS, countless of other EMS professionals that were medical volunteers, as well as runners, and spectators ran to give aid to the injured. Thanks to them for their service and dedication.
I have re-read this New Yorker article, Why Boston’s Hospitals were Ready,  several times by surgeon and author Atul Gawande several times. Each time I read this sentence, “Yet it now appears that every one of the wounded alive when rescuers reached them will survive.” my heart swells with pride.
From last month, Boston EMS ambulance just before the explosions.
We are EMS and we go in!
