Video: Use Custom Google Maps for EMS Training and Pre-Planning

Saw this great video at the Medic Madness blog on how to create a custom Google Map for training new employees on post locations and hospitals in their response area. Check out the video to see how easy it is.

Some other ways you could use custom Google Maps:

1. Include pictures in the “points-of-interest descriptions of ambulance only entrances at common response locations like long-term care facilities.

2. Map alternate routes to hospitals during special events. For example, if your crews are standing by at a parade or running race map alternate routes to hospitals that doesn’t require crossing closed streets or passing through large crows.

3. Long distance inter-facility transfer routes. Create a folder of short cuts of routes to long distance inter-facility destinations.
