Hunting Safety Reminders

This morning the 9 day Wisconsin gun deer season opens. Opening day is an unofficial state holiday for me and more than 500,000 other hunters. As you read this I am nestled into a tree stand not far from the shores of the Little Wolf River. It is an idyllic spot. Today’s Everyday EMS Tips are a reminder to me and all of you that hunt to:

1. Always point the muzzle in a safe direction.

2. Treat every firearm as if it were loaded.

3. Be sure of your target and what is in front of and beyond your target.

Have a safe and fun weekend. For me bringing home a deer will just be the icing on the cake of a fantastic weekend in the woods and time together with great friends.
