Desert Biohazard

The Gila Monster is one of only two poisonous lizards in North America. I have only seen two in my travels and hiking in the Sonoran desert. This Gila Monster was pointed out to us by another hiker on a recent descent down Black Mountain in Cave Creek, Arizona.

Like any creepy crawler avoid being bitten by not touching, holding, or handling the Gila Monster.
