Reader David Elliot wrote me with these great tips:
1. Tape a copy of the APGAR parameters to the OB kits
2. Tape a copy of the rule of 9’s (adult and ped) to the burn sheets
3. Use the Broselow Tape to measure EVERY child or infant on the routine asthma’s, falls and febrile seizures to become more familiar with it
4. Use triage tags more frequently, like every MVA with 2-3 patients to become more familiar
Tips 1 and 2 are what I call “Just-in-Time” training. The APGAR score calculation is in the place you need it at the time you need it.
