3 Kindle Fire Feature Requests

I have been enjoying my Kindle Fire immensely for the last three weeks. I have used it to read 4 books (and counting), watch lots of videos, browse the web, update my social network status, and stream my favorite podcasts. My kids have also been using it to play lots of games like Slice It and Bouncing Ball.

These three features would make the Kindle Fire even better.

1. Swype keyboard. The auto-completion of words as I type them is OK, but I really can fly on the Android Swype keyboard on my phone.

2. Google Apps. The Kindle Fire can only install apps from the Amazon approved app store. As of now that App store doesn’t include apps for GMail, Google Voice, or Google Reader. I don’t quite understand why these are not included.

3. Microphone. With a microphone I could dictate text messages, voice search, make Google Voice phone calls, and even record short podcasts.

What would you add to the Kindle Fire to make even better?

At $200 with a month of Amazon Prime included (we have already made more than 6 Christmas gift orders all with free shipping and taken advantage of two free book downloads) the Kindle Fire is an incredible device at an incredible price.
